Extending AFLW beyond space b/w Aus Open/AFLM is inevitable if AFL are serious about their vision to eventually make AFLW fully professional. Shortening season disrespects players, staff & fans whilst failing to address the supposed commitment to advance the game. We deserve more
1/2 Success/importance of AFLW can’t be determined purely by current revenue. It’s an investment that’s made incredible, much needed cultural change & opened up so many opportunities for women on&off the field. 76% female participation increase in 2017 evidences this.
