@sugapathy My story is a little similar. I used to be very conscious of my looks and how my hair sat, and when I started taking the hijab earlier this year my confidence randomly maxed out. I stopped worrying about my looks so much and I could experiment much more with clothes I liked.
@KakaywD20918 Two wrongs don't make a right. Obviously people were mad when girls removed their hijab because opposition will always exist. This doesn't mean we stop supporting women who want to take it. We're not supporting women for public approval, we're getting laws off of bodies
@femmthusiast You do know that this just isn't a correct translation because Islam forbids a man from raising his hand against anyone, especially a woman. The correct translation is "split from them."
Where are all the feminists who speak up for women’s rights? 🧐 Isn’t the right to wear hijab a woman’s right, too? Where is your voice when Muslim women are denied that freedom? 🇦🇿🧕🏻 Stand for ALL women’s rights, not just the ones you agree with.
@muixyui It's like they would never do this to a non-muslim wearing "sun-protection scarves". I don't care what the peice of cloth means symbolically it's a piece of cloth someone wanted to wear. Let them wear it. This is so surveillance coded
@femmelore_ Rape is such an absurd crime when you think about it. It's like "yes an intimate act meant for two people who love eachother I'm going to do it to someone who doesn't want it" like what the hell what kind of absurd animalistic lack of self control inspires this?
@Lymm130883 Well if my kid wanted to cover her hair and somebody told her not to I'd probably be more concerned that someone wants to see my child's hair and head to the point of telling her not to wear what she wants
@wxcuos@illlvvll Literally the only correct thing you said is that god prescribed the hijab. Everything else is a lie. In fact men are told repeatedly to respect women, to not touch non-mehram women, to lower their gaze, to soften their tone. Yet somehow you ignore all that and focus on this.
@wxcuos I started taking the hijab this year and it only made my mental health better and made me less self conscious about my looks and made me more confident.
Y'all just hate that we don't want to confirm to your beauty standards anymore
@Soso234321904 My mother started taking the hijab after her marriage and after having two kids when she simply decided she wanted to. Two of my sister's took the hijab in middle school on and off purely because they wanted to. I took the hijab purely because I wanted to. Does my faith scare you
