798 LA proposal wins over the Yelin "Laura" Song Foundation's committee, receiving $10M + land endowment for their startup incubator and international student scholarships. #chtown18
Tech != incubator, once again.
Just to clarify, I was part of Code Tenderloin but my training was in overall job skills. We will offer ESL language training skills, resume building skills, and many things that people lack in their support system. #chtown18
@TonyLiu52398132 of UOCSA challenges LA Community Solutions' budget proposal.
After analyzing all of the math, their numbers don't add up. Is their proposal still feasible? #chtown18
The problem is that international students are here on a transient basis. So are the immigrants you are trying to protect. Don't you want both groups of us here? #chtown18@AascFaculty
Faculty communication with chancellor seems to be just lip service to avoid backlash after #Simmons. Calling a space "safe" does not mean it is... What programming is there to actively shift cultures that harm women? #chtown18
We decry business owners like Mr. Li. Cutting costs must be ethical: give the individuals used for cheap labor a voice and a real stance in society. Nobody should have to compromise their morals for their work. #chtown18
One of our sponsors, Code Tenderloin, has its graduates in a variety of positions such as customer service, housekeeping, security, HR etc.

Having been a woman living by myself on the streets of San Francisco, I would have been (and am still) terrified of the high risk of sexual assault. 10 years later, I am appalled that even within a educated university system that little has been done to make us feel safer.
"It is a important point (sexual harassment)to address " But clearly the activists and faculty members are not going to address this problem in the proposal. #chtown18
