We've had several calls this afternoon related to boaters needing assistance on the city's waterways. Due to the intense rains yesterday, river levels are extremely high, currents are unpredictable and there are plenty of snags.
Please stay off the rivers until levels lower.

#1. Call 911
#2. Do hands-only CPR

The City of La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department will be conducting controlled burns May 12th and 13th on the Mathy Tract and in Upper Hixon Forest.
The 1900 block of Prospect St between Livingston and North streets is currently closed due to a fire. The fire has been extinguished and no injuries are reported.
