Lady Lions Continue to Score in Bunches for Second Win of the Season

CANNONSBURG, KY - The Boyd County softball team knows how to get runners to the plate. For the second consecutive game to start the season, the Lady Lions put double digit runs on the board, defeating Russell 12-1 in 5 innings.

Lacyn Black picked up the win on the mound going 4 strong innings allowing just one run. Brooke Jacobs slammed the door in the top of the 5th for the Lady Lions.

At the plate it was Jacobs going 2-3 with 2 RBI and 2 runs scored. Kyli Kouns was 2-2 with 2RBI and 2 runs. Elyn Simpkins was 2-3 with 3 runs scored, and Jadyn Goad had a 1-2 night with 1 RBI and 2 runs scored.

The Lady Lions (2-0) will host Greenup County (1-0) Friday night at 6:00 PM on https://t.co/ckKgQBZDuG!

Russell (0-2) will travel to Pike County Central (2-1) on Saturday for a 2:00 PM game.
