Building a company can cost and drain you. You’ll lose friends, sometimes you’ll run broke, pleasure time will sound past tense, family will feel distanced and you will have many failings than success. If you’re a hard core, you’ll grow stronger. So, rise up and keep grinding.
At YGAK, we believe that lasting impact is achieved when communities become active partners in conservation. Sustainable restoration is not only about restoring landscapes—it is also about restoring trust, strengthening collaboration, and building meaningful human connections.
Many people view environmental restoration as a technical exercise involving seedlings, data, funding, and expertise. While these elements are important, our work has taught us that people are just as vital as the ecosystems we seek to restore.
Over the years, our experience has consistently shown that communities rarely reject good projects. More often, they resist feeling excluded, misunderstood, or unheard. Whenever we have taken time to Listen to their concerns and understand their priorities; they cooperate.
When entering new project areas, we are met with warnings from outsiders who describe certain communities as difficult, hostile, or resistant. The easy option would be to avoid such places. However, our mission is to serve communities that stand to benefit from restoration.
Community engagement is one of the most subtle, yet most powerful tools in environmental conservation and sustainable development. At Youths for Green Action Kenya (YGAK), we have learned that successful restoration goes beyond planting trees and rehabilitating landscapes.
Young people are not waiting for the future; they are already shaping it.
We are honored to see the work of Youths for Green Action Kenya featured in this important national conversation on sustainability, restoration, and climate action.

🌿 Greening Schools Initiative – Phase 4: Deepening Roots for a Sustainable Future 🌿
The journey to green our learning spaces and empower young environmental champions continues with even greater energy and passion! 💚
Youths for Green Action Kenya in partnership with Victoria furnitures and German Imaging Technologies, proudly rolled out Phase Four of the Greening Schools Initiative
An inspiring environmental action program that brings together students, teachers, and communities to promote tree planting 🌳, climate education 📚, and sustainability practices across schools.
This phase marked another milestone in nurturing environmental responsibility among young learners, equipping them with the knowledge and values needed to protect and restore our planet 🌍.Through collective effort, trees were planted, each representing a living symbol of hope.
Beyond planting trees, this initiative emphasizes climate education — helping students understand the importance of biodiversity, waste management, and eco-friendly living 🌱.
It’s about empowering a generation that not only studies under trees but also grows with them, recognizing their role in the fight against climate change. 🌤️
The success of Phase 4 stands as proof that collaboration works! 🤝
Together with dedicated partners, teachers, and enthusiastic students, we are creating greener learning environments and inspiring lasting behavioral change at the grassroots level. 🌾
A heartfelt thank you 🙏 to all schools, volunteers, and partners who made this possible.
