வரும் அக்டோபர் 15, ஐயா அப்துல் கலாம் அவர்கள��� பிறந்த தினம் அன்று, கோயம்புத்தூரில், Abdul Kalam Centre for Ethics and Politics தொடங்கப்படும். முதல் நாளில், 100 மகளிர், இந்த பயிற்சித் திட்டத்தில் இணைவார்கள். மேலும், அக்டோபர் மூன்றாவது வாரத்தில், நமது @WTLFoundation தலைவர்கள் சார்பாக, கிருஷ்ணகிரி மாவட்டத்தில் 5000 பெண்களைக் கொண்ட மகளிர் சுய உதவிக் குழு பதிவு செய்யப்படவிருக்கிறது. பெண்கள் முன்னேற்றத்துக்காக, நாம் தொடர்ந்து துணை நிற்போம்.

திருத்தம்: தமிழகத்தில் தற்போது, பட்டியல் சமூகத்தைச் சேர்ந்த அமைச்சர்கள் 8 பேரும், பெண் அமைச்சர்கள் 4 பேரும் இருக்கிறார்கள்.

With the prime responsibility of leaving a better tomorrow for future generations amid ballooning climate-change adversity, leaders of @WTLFoundation took up the cause of Clean & Sustainable Tamil Nadu throughout August and September 2026.

Our selfless leaders launched activities ranging from public space clean-ups, waste segregation, plastic-free environments, waterbody care, and tree sapling planting, using a community-driven approach that has created massive impact across TN.

Through activities such as the beach clean-up drives, major waterbody clean-up and restoration drives, awareness rallies & massive tree sapling plantation drives across TN, WTL's grassroots leaders have sown the seeds of environmental protection, ownership, and action.

Through over 2,000 events across TN, WTL leaders have collected over 593 tonnes of garbage and planted 12.74 lakh tree saplings (as of 25.09.2026).

Through this collective action of planting over 12.7 Lakh tree saplings, 16,642 MT of CO2 will be sequestered by 2031, and 27,278 MT of CO2 will be offset by 2046.

Recalling the call to action on Drug Free TN for July & Clean & Sustainable TN for August & September, WTL’s unwavering zest to continue its cause for a better tomorrow is now focused on Women's Empowerment. The entire month of October is being observed as Women Safety & Empowerment Month.

It involves strengthening women’s capabilities, talents, choices, access to opportunities and resources throughout their lives, and their ability to influence their environment, covering 5 themes: Women’s Safety & Justice, Education, Economic Empowerment, Health & Well-being, and Politics.

A 4-week activity has been planned, with Week 1 focusing on enabling women to recognise the economic value of their existing skills and improve their access to livelihood, learning, financial and market opportunities.

Week 2 focuses on creating opportunities for women to care for their physical and emotional well-being while also participating in sports, recreation and cultural activities that strengthen confidence, connection and expression.

Week 3 focuses on strengthening women’s confidence, leadership skills and participation in community life, and Week 4 focuses on helping women understand their legal rights, know where support is available, identify a shared community concern and participate in addressing it.

This October, let us reflect on the present status of women's safety, wellbeing, health, justice, economy and political power, identify real problems faced by women and the possible solutions to address these problems to create a society that is safe and secure for women and that stands with the interests of women.

The Ministry of Jal Shakti in the Rajya Sabha yesterday said that in the Supreme Court Verdict dated 16.02.2018, there is no mention that the State of Karnataka has to obtain the consent of the other riparian states, namely Tamil Nadu, Kerala and the UT of Puducherry, to construct any kind of structure across the River Cauvery.

This statement only exposes that the rights of the farmers of Tamil Nadu have been discarded from consideration by the BJP-led Central Government for electoral gains in Karnataka.

I have to point out here that on 5th August 2021, former Union Minister for Jal Shakti Thiru Gajendra Singh Shekawat avl on the floor of Parliament, said that the permission to the State government of Karnataka to prepare a DPR was only conditional, and according to the Inter-State River Water Dispute Act, it is mandatory to obtain permission from all the lower riparian States (in this case Tamil Nadu) for the construction of a dam which passes Inter State.

Why is the Central Government now suddenly making a U-turn on the position it had already taken? Is expecting consistency at least on life-changing decisions of our Farmers too much to ask for?

Request the central government not to take the people of Tamil Nadu for granted and unnecessarily vitiate the brotherly relationship between the two friendly states, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka.

இன்று மாலை பொள்ளாச்சியில், @WTLFoundation சார்பில் நடைபெற்ற 'போதை இல்லா தமிழகம்' – We the Leaders மாநாட்டில் பங்கேற்று என்னுடைய கருத்துகளைப் பகிர்ந்து கொண்டதில் மிகுந்த மகிழ்ச்சி அடைகிறேன். ஜூல�� 2026 முழுவதும் 'White Band மாதம்' என்ற மக்கள் இயக்கத்தை முன்னெடுக்க, தமிழ்நாட்டின் அனைத்துப் பகுதிகளிலிருந்தும் திரண்டு வந்த ஆயிரக்கணக்கான We the Leaders தலைவர்கள், குழந்தைகள், பெண்கள், இளைஞர்கள், சகோதர, சகோதரிகள் மற்றும் பெரியவர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் எனது மனமார்ந்த நன்றிகள். நமது இயக்கத்தில் இணைந்திருப்பவர்களில் 17% பெண்கள் என்பது, சமூக மாற்றத்தின் மீது மக்கள் வைத்திருக்கும் நம்பிக்கையின் மிகப்பெரிய சான்றாகும்.

தமிழ்நாட்டில் போதைப்பொருள் அச்சுறுத்தலுக்கு எதிராக சமரசமற்ற நடவடிக்கை எடுக்க வேண்டிய ந��ரம் இது. போதைப்பொருளை ஒழிக்க வேண்டுமெனில் அதன் தேவையையே வேரோடு அழிக்க வேண்டும். இந்தப் போராட்டம் அரசின் பொறுப்பு மட்டுமல்ல; ஒவ்வொரு குடும்பமும், ஒவ்வொரு குடிமகனும் ஏற்க வேண்டிய சமூகப் பொறுப்பு. அதனால்தான் இனி ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் ஜூலை மாதம் "போதை விழிப்புணர்வு மாதம்" ஆகக் கடைப்பிடித்து, இந்த விழிப்புணர்வு இயக்கத்தை ஒவ்வொரு வீடு, தெரு, கிராமம், குடியிருப்பு மற்றும் கல்வி நிலையம் வ��ை எடுத்துச் செல்ல உறுதி எடுத்துள்ளோம்.

சமூக மாற்றம் போதை ஒழிப்போடு முடிவடைவதில்லை. ஆகஸ்ட் மாதம், "சுற்றுச்சூழல் பாதுகாப்பு மாதம்" ஆகக் கடைபிடித்து, தமிழகம் முழுவதும் 50 லட்சம் மரக்கன்றுகள் நடும் மக்கள் இயக்கத்தை முன்னெடுக்கிறோம். மேலும், வரும் அக்டோபர் 15, 2026, டாக்டர் ஏ.பி.ஜே. அப்துல் கலாம் அவர்களின் பிறந்த நாளில் "A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Centre for Ethics and Politics" தொடங்கப்பட்டு, நற்பண்புகளையும், சமூக மாற்றத்திற்கான பயிற்சியையும் கொடுத்து, 1.5 லட்சம் தலைவர்களை அடுத்த ஆண்டுக்குள் உருவாக்கும் பயணத்தைத் தொடங்குகிறோம்.

அடுத்த ஆறு மாதங்களில் We the Leaders இயக்கம், சமூகத்தின் பல முக்கிய பிரச்சினைகளுக்குத் தீர்வு காணும் வகையில் மக்களுடன் இணைந்து பணியாற்றும். ஆக்கபூர்வமான விமர்சனங்கள் மூலம், ஆளும் அரசைப் பொறுப்பேற்கச் செய்வதோடு, மக்களின் நலனையே ஒரே குறிக்கோளாகக் கொண்டு செயல்படுவோம்.

மாற்றம் என்பது யாரோ ஒருவர் மட���டுமே உருவாக்குவது அல்ல; ஒவ்வொரு குடிமகனும் தலைமைப் பொறுப்பை ஏற்கும் தருணத்தில்தான் அது தொடங்குகிறது. பாதுகாப்பான, போதை இல்லாத, பசுமை நிறைந்த, நேர்மையான, வளர்ச்சியடைந்த தமிழ்நாட்டை நாம் அனைவரும் இணைந்து உருவாக்குவோம்.
