Under your electoral system yes they absolutely do represent you.
Because as a nation you just don't give enough fucks and have sleepwalked into this over decades of apathy, inertia, and self-congratulation.
So stop with the "it wasn't us" bullshit, because it absolutely was you.
Uncomfortable truth:
Conservatives are trying to boil down the US trade negotiations to just Carney walking over bilingual labels and ignoring all other bad parts in the deal because they are banking on the bigotry towards french speaking Canadians to make people pissed at Carney.
It is no secret some Canadians view Quebecers as entitled and think Canada should remove bilingual law requirements.
These influencers are trying to use that hate towards Quebec as a point of division to make people hate Carney. To make people think he walked over something they already view as pointless.
It's hate mongering.
But the reality is, regardless of your views on Quebec and our French language laws, all Canadians should never let another country dictate our culture and language.
The US doesn't get to tell us what to do in our own country and if you think otherwise, you aren't a Canadian patriot.
We protect all Canadians here.
We are a sovereign country and no one fucks with our people.
If one more person starts talking about summer being over I’m going to get violent. Summer doesn’t end until September 21st. You can all still go to the pool and lay out in the sun in September. The world is burning up. Leave your pumpkin propaganda for October
I don't speak a lick of French. I've never been to Quebec. But it's their goddamn right to speak their language and have every product have both English and French on it. And any self-respecting Canadian should defend their right to do that.
When you vote in a leader, you hope they have the character to act in the best interests of the country, especially when the decisions are hard and the path ahead is unclear. To think and act with principle, rather than emotion or fear.
Canadians are very well served in this moment.
Thank you, Prime Minister Carney.
late-diagnosed autistic women will probably relate to these:
1. You hated sleepovers, school trips, or sharing spaces because you never fully relaxed around other people.
2. You became obsessed with books, games, topics, or hobbies because they felt safer and more predictable than people.
3. You relied on alcohol, humour, masking, or copying others just to feel socially normal.
4. You got upset over "small things" like plans changing, loud noises, itchy clothes, interruptions, being perceived as rude.
5. You constantly researched things before doing them. menus, parking, reviews, google street view, all possible outcomes.
6. You preferred being alone, but still felt deeply lonely watching everyone else connect so easily.
7. You felt physically sick before social events, appointments, phone calls, or school, but thought you were just anxious.
8. You got intensely attached to certain people and based your mood around how they responded to you.
9. You were "mature for your age" as a child, but felt years behind everyone else as an adult.
