We didn't have parties to "boost morale".
We didn't have quiz nights.
We didn't have champagne.
We watched our colleagues die.
We watched the bodies pile high in their thousands.
These lying, cheating, self-serving charlatans need to be flung out of office.

It’s important to remember that behind these stark economic figures are millions of people whose lives are being impacted by the harm caused by alcohol – (1/6)
@RishiSunak Why don't you want overseas care workers, who do some of the hardest and most essential work in the country, to have family near by? Are you are on crack?
(2/3) We agree with the Minister investing in treatment services is welcome but we know this is not enough and that 80% of people who need treatment are not receiving it.
(3/3) Alcohol harm is a complex problem and for meaningful action we need an alcohol strategy that includes:
🔸better regulation of alcohol marketing
◾️clearer alcohol labelling
🔸minimum unit pricing in England
(1/3) Thanks to @maggie_erewash for asking @andrealeadsom about her Dept's assessment on introducing an alcohol strategy following the shocking @ONS alcohol-specific deaths statistics yesterday, that there were over 10,000 deaths from alcohol in 2022 in the UK, an all time high.
Looking at the difference in alcohol-specific death rates across the socioeconomic spectrum, you can see the huge inequality in alcohol-specific deaths. In absolute terms the pandemic has seen the biggest rise in deaths in the most deprived groups...
@ruth_wishart If @STVNews repeat their headline that Scottish alcohol deaths are at a record high, remember this data. UK wide deaths are at all time high. Scottish deaths are not.
