Oh what a delightful sight
To see your bright golden light
Springing towards me, solving my solitary plight.

Without interruption, you always listen,
To light and dark tales, for you no gain

We're sorry, our red squirrels, were chased away,
By greys from America.who came to stay.
I fear the same fate, for our black cabs, awaits,
Their cheery amber lights belie, their struggle to survive,
Circling and in queues for days and nights they strive.

UK: The Leaving Care pathway, fractured and steep,
A “Care Cliff” where too many fell deep;
Underfunded, flawed, and strained by demand,
Leaving vulnerable young lives without a hand.

Local Authorities carry the duty of care,
Yet too often accountability isn’t there.
With this new policy, hope takes flight—
May it bring lasting support, delivered right.

Now, through this new policy’s guiding light,
Young people may face the future more bright.
With friends, family, mentors, and buddies near,
Offering guidance, encouragement, and cheer.

No longer left standing alone at the edge,
But supported by people who honour their pledge.
If these promises grow from words into deed,
Care leavers may finally get the support they need.
