Two chapters, two and a half years apart. Feels really nice to come full circle.
New chapter of Seas Change Into Mulberry Orchards, for your enjoyment, right now <3

The end is in sight for a fic I've been working on for 2 and a half years. Here's a little look at the start of the Epilogue that I've had written for about a year.
The idea of wrapping up SCIMO feels very strange. But it'll happen in the next few months I think.

For the two other Hu Tao brain-rotters that are still out there, I just updated my Hu Tao fic with a new chapter. Go read, I did a stupid amount of needless research for this!

@mounttargon Curious to hear your thoughts about Taliyah and Shurimans in general! Seems like modern Shurimans are generally on it, even if they don’t have diabetes? (Sivir) it just feels like K’sante and Tali are outliers in here.
Chapter 4 of my #sandbina fic is up! It's a long one, and a heavy one with a handful of Laebrumme fic trademarks! Hope you enjoy

Anyways that's my rant. I have other things I want to talk about with this fic but it's late and I'm also not done with it, so I might make a blog post about it at some point when I'm closer to finished with it.
It opens a lot of doors to doing some neat stuff, and I'm really excited to play with it! Especially in chapter four because it's my favorite song from the album :)
Instead of writing a normally structured work like I did with trout, here instead I'm setting a hard formula early, and any return to a regular writing style might seem like a break, or it might make some more creative and flexible choices seem even stranger.
So I thought: model it physically. Make the reader feel that monotony instead of simply tell them that it's happening.
It's something I've done before, most notably in "it's possibly a trout," but here it's kind of turned on it's head.
Each day that Columbina lives is the same more or less, over and over, with very little change, and that's one of the things driving her kind of mad. But since I'm writing a 10 chapter fic, I needed some way to represent that beyond just stating it.
Each chapter opens with a dream journal, then a passage from the start of Bina's day, then a flashback, then a Sandrone passage, then the end of Bina's day.
To quote White Ceiling from the album: Yesterday's like today, today's like tomorrow, tomorrow's like yesterday.
Obviously these are things that I've adapted into the fic, but one of the choices I'm proud of is how I decided to model that monotony in the actual structure of the text. The formula of each chapter is rigid and defined, kind of like how Columbina's routine is.
Next Part of the Dream as an album is very much about delusion, mental health, and just overall being a bit of a loser in a world that expects you to be something you're not. It's about frustration with monotony, the dangers of nostalgia, and being a disappointment.
So the most obvious inspiration for the fic is the album "To See The Next Part of the Dream" by Parannoul. The chapter names take the song names from the album, usual fanfic stuff. The overall story follows the story that exists in the original album.
Just a little bit of rambling on a neat little structural thing I'm doing in my #sandbina fic because I wanna yap about it!
Obviously some spoilers for the first three chapters below
Hello! Wanted to pop in and say I'm working on a #sandbina fic that I'm really proud of so far and that you should check it out!
It's angsty, it's a modern AU, Magical realism(?), it's about mental health, I think it's neat.
