Salon workers around Nyanga Terminus are reportedly living in fear after a group allegedly arrived at several salons, threatened workers with firearms and demanded money.

According to a message circulating on social media, some workers were allegedly forced to hand over their phones, while salon owners were reportedly told to pay R2,500 every month as a so-called “protection fee.”

Authorities should investigate these allegations and ensure that salon workers and business owners can work safely without intimidation or extortion.
