⏸️Hey survivors,
As we did with DayZ Frostline, we’re putting the Community Spotlight on a temporary hiatus as the DayZ Badlands dev blogs ramp up.
But don’t worry, the @Friendly_dayz guys are picking up where they left off and taking over the Community Spotlights for the next few months.
Have a read of their first Community Spotlight below!
📢Hey Survivors,
We want to give you an update regarding the patches planned for Update 1.29.
We have decided to cancel the hotfix. This is mainly so we can take more care and caution in addressing the pressing issues you have reported. Instead, we are planning to put the patch on the Experimental branch first, beginning with Steam PC Experimental next week.
This PC Experimental phase will allow us to evaluate the game's performance and stability before rolling the patch out more broadly across all platforms.
It will then be followed by an Xbox version in the coming weeks, as submission timelines on the platform are currently longer than usual with the introduction of experimental versions on new platforms.
The stable update will be released across all platforms, including PlayStation, at the same time.
Further fixes, along with additional content, are also planned as part of the Road to Badlands update later down the line.
We will continue to share updates as we go.
Thank you very much for your patience.

📢Hey survivors,
The update release is going to be a little bit delayed as we are still testing the servers, ETA is in approx. one hour. We will keep you updated as things progress.
Thank you for your patience. 🙏
Deerisle & the Upcoming DayZ 1.29 Update
What You Need to Know:
With DayZ update 1.29 approaching, the DayZ developers have warned that the new performance fixes may affect existing mods. This also impacts Deerisle, so I want to explain clearly what this means for Deerisle V5.9 and the upcoming Deerisle 6.0.
What 1.29 Might Break:
DayZ 1.29 includes internal engine and performance changes. Updates like this often cause issues in older mods, including script errors, crashes, broken functions, and problems with map-related logic. Because Deerisle V5.9 was built before these changes, it is possible that 1.29 will break parts of the map or its complete scripting. We will only know once the update goes live.
The Hard Truth:
Deerisle Stable V5.9 will not Receive fixes if 1.29 Breaks it
If 1.29 causes issues in Deerisle V5.9, I will not be updating or patching that version or invest any additional time in it.
There are important reasons for this:
Deerisle 6.0 is deep in development. Over the last 9 months, Deerisle 6.0 has gone through massive restructuring. More than 6,000 lines of code have been added, changed, or completely rewritten. These changes significantly expand and modernize how the map works for its final endgame content.
So...Fixing V5.9 makes no sense
Because the entire scripting backend in 6.0 is different, V5.9 and V6.0 barely share the same structure anymore.
Any fix created for V5.9 would need to be reworked and reimplemented again for 6.0. This doubles the development work while offering no long-term value.
All development focus is on making 6.0 stable
Deerisle 6.0 "The endgame" is the future of the map.
Instead of patching a version that is being replaced, it is far more productive to invest all development time into finishing and polishing 6.0.
What Happens When 1.29 Releases?
If 1.29 does not break V5.9:
You can continue running V5.9 normally until 6.0 releases.
If 1.29 does break V5.9:
There will be no compatibility fix for 5.9.
Server owners will need to temporarily disable Deerisle
I will stay fully focused on finishing Deerisle 6.0.
Looking Ahead to Deerisle 6.0
Deerisle 6.0 is a major upgrade. The scripting backend has been rebuilt, the map has expanded.
DayZ updates can be challenging, but they also push the platform forward.
Deerisle 6.0 is the next big step, and all my development time is dedicated to delivering it as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience, your support, and for continuing to play Deerisle.
More updates soon.
The endgame is coming.
