What causes #CerebralVasospasm?
While the causes of cerebral vasospasm are not fully known, there are various physiological and biochemical reactions that may be triggered by aSAH (a type of bleed on the brain) that lead to the release of substances that constrict blood vessels.
Given the recovery period needed for aSAH, especially for patients who are kept anesthetized, symptoms of #CerebralVasospasm can be hard to spot.
They may be noticeable by a sudden change in the patient’s consciousness or new symptoms such as paralysis in parts of the body.
Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a sudden, life-threatening bleeding on the surface of the brain.
About 1/3 of patients with aSAH experience a worsening of their neurological condition due to delayed #CerebralVasospasm – a constriction of arteries in the brain.
March is Brain Injury Awareness Month. At Idorsia, we've been working to develop a drug to help patients suffering from cerebral vasospasm.
Do you know what cerebral vasospasm is? Learn more about it here throughout the month.

#BingeEatingDisorder refers to repeated episodes of eating unusually large portions of food in a short period of time (within 2 hours).
It is associated with a sense of lack of control over what is being eaten and there is often an absence of pleasure in what has been eaten.
Binge Eating Disorder (BED) is a complex and challenging condition.
It can lead to feelings of guilt and shame and can also cause a range of physical problems. If left untreated, it can have serious long-term health consequences.

At Idorsia, we have been working to develop a treatment for #BingeEatingDisorder (BED).
BED is a well-defined mental illness. It involves repeated consumption of excessive amounts of food in a short period of time, often in an uncontrolled way and sometimes in secret.
