End of an era. ⚓

After 60 years, thousands of traps, and millions of pounds of cargo delivered, the "Rawhides" of Fleet Logistics Support Squadron (VRC) 40 have flown the C-2A Greyhound’s last mission.

The Navy's final C-2A Greyhound led a formation flight with the U.S. Navy Blue Angels over Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola's Sherman Field before being turned over to the National Naval Aviation Museum.

VRC-40 is being disestablished after more than six decades of carrier onboard delivery (COD) services and logistics support to the fleet, while being the only remaining aviation squadron to fly the C-2A Greyhound aircraft.

The Messerschmitt Me 262 wasn't just another WWII fighter, it was the world's first operational jet-powered fighter, entering combat years ahead of its rivals

The world's first operational jet fighter could outrun nearly every piston-engine aircraft of its time, reaching 540 mph (870 km/h) and leaving even the fastest Mustangs and Spitfires struggling to keep up.

Its twin turbojets, swept wings, and blistering speed marked the beginning of the jet age and changed fighter aviation forever. This is a flying Me 262 replica taking to the skies at RIAT and several decades later.

The USS Constitution, aka Old Ironsides, is the world’s oldest commissioned war ship still afloat!

She was launched in 1797, one of six original frigates authorized for construction by the Naval Act of 1794 and the third constructed. The name “Constitution” was among ten names submitted to President George Washington by Secretary of War Timothy Pickering in March or May for the frigates that were to be constructed.
