It’s not that motherhood “isn’t enough” for some women. It’s actually that it’s far too much, leaving little room for anything else. The female reproductive role is all encompassing. It overwhelms.

And as long as it carries little to no status or respect, and society and its expectations leave no room for other interests, we will continue to see women opt out of it.

Children don't need protection from the world. They need to learn how to cope with the world. This comes from hearing no, from allowing them deal with disappointment, and from facing the natural consequences of their actions.

They don't need tough love, they need adults who believe fully in their capability.
