@nigimmigration Thank you @nigimmigration for this info. Please could you allow me to retry on Contactless? I failed it on my first attempt. I believe this would be far easier and faster to clear the backlog.
Dear @NigeriaImmigration, this kind of customer service is honestly frustrating.
I contacted the official NIS WhatsApp line and took my time to clearly explain my passport renewal problem.
I have already applied and paid. I was initially eligible for contactless biometrics and completed about 60% of the process before the app suddenly changed my status to INELIGIBLE.
After several unsuccessful attempts to get help, I saw the announcement about the Passport Intervention Team coming to the UK this August. So I contacted the WhatsApp number provided in that announcement and asked one simple question:
Can I complete the biometrics for my already-paid application with the Passport Intervention Team coming to the UK?
Yesterday, instead of answering my question, I was simply sent back the same announcement that led me to contact the number in the first place.
I asked again, clearly requesting a YES or NO answer or proper guidance.
The response I received was:
“It says ineligible. You most do walk in.”
Walk in where? When? With what arrangement? Do you mean the Passport Intervention Team? What happens to the application I have already paid for?
These are the questions someone contacting an official support channel reasonably expects to have answered.
My passport expires in December 2026, I am travelling to Nigeria in January 2027, and I am genuinely trying to resolve this early rather than wait until it becomes an emergency.
Please, @NigeriaImmigration, I am not asking for special treatment. I am simply asking for clear information and proper guidance on how to complete my already-paid passport application.
