This is why I can’t stand the box score freaks. I’d rather people just say they don’t like Jalen and call it a day, because first it was the full court press of “KAT IS THE FMVP” and now it’s OG. There’s a clear rush to dismiss his contributions to what’s going on right now.
Jalen is getting full court pressed, facing defense 90 ft out, hounded by Stephon Castle, often double teamed, getting beat up and physically targeted and in spite of this hanging in there and making big plays and closing out finals games.
Towns was excellent in Games 1 and 2. Anunoby has been awesome all series, but the team literally gets swept without Jalen and he’s the guy that’s actually taken these games home in the fourth and allowing these other guys to get open looks and space. That used to account for something, before everyone decided to totally remove nuance and just bury people over their shooting splits.
Lastly, gunning in a finals games is the trait of an alpha male, 1A leader. It takes guts to play like that with the defenses that Brunson is facing and within the context of the game it’s often what was needed on the floor when it was happening. If Brunson didn’t empty the clip in the 2nd and 3rd quarters of Game 4, they go down 40.
@Uncut_AlexKing@818Kira_@ThisIsTNA@RosarioR11688 At least be accurate with the trolling lil bro. This ain’t 2023. You actually appear psychotic when TNA is it currently Tarp No Attendance wrestling. Bless your heart.
KAT had a three minute stretch to open the fourth where he elected to not establish himself offensively and Jalen Brunson wasn’t even on the fucking floor.
KAT’s the most talented player on our team, I agree. We needed to play through him more, I agree. But we have to stop babying players.
The casual take is to blame JB for KAT being quiet in the fourth but 1. Towns was hiding and not coming to the ball, 2. The Spurs were defensively denying him as a flex offense initiator and NOBODY WAS MAKING ANYTHING HAPPEN until Jalen checked in in the fourth and started gunning because the team literally needed it.
