Finally had some time to sit down and write a few thoughts about DoKomi 🇩🇪
(Setting aside the attack on my Instagram accounts, where both of my main profiles were suspended and are still blocked as of today. That situation hit me really hard emotionally.)
This was my very first DoKomi!
I've attended conventions in Italy, Japan, and even Anime Expo in the US, and honestly... at the moment, DoKomi might be the best convention I've ever participated in, especially as an exhibitor.
What I loved the most was how international it felt. There were so many different nationalities, languages, and communities all in one place.
I saw some people complain that there was "too much German," but coming from both Italy and Japan, I can tell you that many conventions there don't even try to accommodate English speakers.
DoKomi genuinely put effort into being bilingual and welcoming to international guests.
The Artist Alleys were enormous and probably my favorite halls, together with the VTuber and R18 areas.
Unfortunately, I couldn't explore much because I had my own booth to manage, but everything I did see was a solid 10/10.
I genuinely think many conventions abroad *especially some Italian ones*could learn a lot from DoKomi.
Even when communicating by email, the staff were always incredibly fast, helpful, and supportive.
(Meanwhile, I could tell you countless stories about extremely racist experiences I've had in Japan despite speaking Japanese at a near-native level. And in Italy, if you're not friends with someone in the organization, poor management can sometimes become a real issue.)
My only concern is next year.
Since the event is moving to July, I think the weather could become extremely challenging for cosplayers. Some halls already felt quite hot and crowded, so I really hope preparations are made to handle the increased temperatures.
That said, I'd absolutely love to come back.
Next time I'd like to prepare a stronger booth concept and organize myself better. And hopefully I'd love to participate as a DJ or be involved in other activities too!
Personally, I almost feel like DoKomi could be a four-day event instead of three considering how massive the attendance is but that's just my opinion.
Another thing that genuinely surprised me was how strong the VTuber community is in Germany.
I had no idea it was this big, and it was such a pleasant surprise.
Who knows what I'll end up cooking up for next year...
Aside from a very small number of negative experiences, 98% of the people I met were incredibly kind, respectful, and supportive. I truly appreciated that.
Now I completely understand why more and more people want to attend DoKomi.
What do you think?🤍

They are continuing to suspending my instagram account for no reason apparently..
They’re still mass-reporting my accounts.
At this point, this is no longer a Meta issue, it’s a targeted harassment campaign, and I will be taking appropriate action soon.
For now, please follow me on X and my other social media platforms to stay updated.
Thank you for your support. 🙇♀️💙
