Exiting the stadium last night, Lainie sentimentally pointed out the fact that tonight would be the last time one of our boys would ever wear the Wakeland uniform.
Eight years of Wakeland sports for the Myer Crew has officially come to an end in abrupt fashion with the unexpected early exit from the first round of baseball playoffs for Grayson and his fellow Wolverines. 2018 was the first year of our Wakeland sports journey with Cade as a freshman football player, then Brennan came along in 2020 followed by Grayson in 2022. At that time 2026 seemed like an eternity away! Alot more success than failure we were able to cheer for over that tenure….good memories that we will always be grateful for. It’s been a great ride for the Myer Crew but it’s time to start a new chapter (or maybe just a whole new book in the Myer Family series). As the old Dr Seuss saying goes, “Don’t cry because 8 years of high school sports is over, smile because it happened.”
What a beautiful day in Ames, IA for our first Iowa State Football experience at the Spring Game! So proud of our # 54 at Center! Can't wait for August to get here already!! Go Cyclones! @cadenmyer
Bulldogs have a talented quarterback room returning led by Brennan Myer (#9). Myer is back and ready to pick up where he left off in 2025. @BryantUFootball#SpringVisit
