I really don’t want to talk about this, but shaming another woman for having PCOS because of a man who clearly doesn’t even value or respect you is very disappointing.
No woman chooses to have PCOS. No woman asks for it or pays to have it.
If that man truly valued you, he wouldn’t be bringing other women into your home and disrespecting you the way he does.
Instead of directing your anger at another woman over a medical condition she has no control over, maybe focus on the person who is actually hurting and disrespecting you.
At some point, you have to choose dignity over greed and stop attacking fellow women for things that are completely beyond their control.
During Buhari govt, Nigerians were selling their assets to run out of the country for survival because the economy was bad..Now Under tinubu govt, Nigerians are selling assets like tv, fridge, uncompleted buildings just to eat because Japa is now too expensive to attempt. When religion and tribalism override your cogent reasons during election, you will inherit hunger and handover poverty to your children. Vote wisely.
Whenever a female student reaches out for financial help, it’s worth pausing and taking her seriously. Sometimes, what looks like a small request could be someone standing at a crossroads.
I was talking to a friend I hadn’t seen in a long time when, in the middle of our conversation, a guy passed by with a girl. They were clearly under the influence of something, but they stopped to greet us. I didn’t recognize either of them, so I asked my friend if he knew them. He said yes, and then he told me a story that almost brought tears to my eyes.
He said that a few months ago, they were together when the same girl came to them asking for help. She said she was a student and had run out of food. When they asked about her parents, she said both of them had passed away and that it was only her elder brother who was supporting her.
My friend said he didn’t believe her at the time. The other guy said he would help her, but only if she agreed to follow him to his place. The girl refused and said she had never done anything like that before. In the end, the guy just gave her one thousand naira and collected her number.
Then things took a turn. The next time they met, the guy told my friend that he had rented an apartment for her and that they were now living together. My friend asked if everything the girl said was a lie, but the guy insisted it was true, that her parents were indeed dead and that she was actually a good girl. He said she simply had no choice, and that he couldn’t help her for free.
The most painful part is that the guy eventually introduced her to drugs, and now she seems comfortable living under his control.
I was shocked. I asked my friend what he did about it, and he said that every time he sees them, he feels a deep sense of guilt. He believes that if he had trusted her and helped her when she first asked, maybe she wouldn’t have fallen into the wrong hands and lost herself completely.
