Traffic Alert - @Metra traffic is currently stopped on the Union Pacific North line in Lake Forest due to a tree across the tracks. Grade crossings in the BD may be blocked for some time while crews remove the tree from the tracks.

Grade Crossing at Western & Deerpath Closed

At the request of Union Pacific, the grade crossing at Western Ave/Deerpath will be closed to vehicle traffic for emergency repairs. The crossing will likely be closed until Saturday or Sunday.

Northbound Route 41 is shut down at Route 60 due to a serious accident investigation in North Chicago. Please use Waukegan Rd, or I94 as alternate routes.

Boil Order Lifted - The precautionary boil order for Lake Forest has been lifted. Laboratory test results confirm that the City’s water supply meets all public health standards. Tap water is now safe to drink, cook with, and use for all household activities.

Precautionary Boil Order Still in Effect in Lake Forest
The water main break on Westleigh Road has been repaired, and water pressure has returned to normal. Out of an abundance of caution, the precautionary boil order remains in effect until testing meets all safety standards.

At approx 12:05 pm LFPD & LFFD responded to Everett/Waukegan and discovered a front-end loader was struck by a N/B Amtrak train. All train traffic is stopped on the Milwaukee District North line. Vehicle traffic in the area is currently unaffected.

🚧 Traffic Advisory – Western Ave. Closure | 1:00 PM–8:00 PM 🚧

Western Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic between Woodland and Wisconsin from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM for the Western Ave. Block Party.

LFPD Officers and members of the Lake County Major Crash Assistance Team are on scene investigating a single vehicle roll over accident on Rt 41 north of Deerpath. Expect significant traffic delays on Northbound Route 41 and the potential for closures.
