@conradbates92 @DoughneyJ 100% agree!!! Its so beneficial to the experience and I definitely gain more from this than a discussion board. I will make sure to comment on these in my evaluation as I hope all will :) #EDLE5330
a5 A ton of great ideas but one is the true abilities Ps have to influence S achievement through their interactions with Ts. Set high/clear expectations, partner with the Ts at your school and be open to relying on strengths of others #EDLE5330
a4: As collegiality increases- creating buy in, collaboration and a shared vision- Ts collective efficacy, knowledge and S achievement grows as well #EDLE5330
@MrsShepGMS I think a frustration comes with "another mtg" How does your school balance extra commitments while upholding a confidence and excitement around the purpose of PLCs? #EDLE5330
@DoughneyJ @BCrow2516 From our convos and readings, probably not enough. I feel like the value of training about PLCs can be lost in the hype of the "buzzword." I think it would be beneficial for admin teams to discuss the research and heart behind PLC's before throwing Ts into "another mtg" #EDLE5330
@DoughneyJ @finscience I work with Andrew and i dont think it really has either but I think that this would be helpful to staff. I think there is a pretty good feeling about the value of PLCs at our school but explaining the why and background around it,
would be beneficial #EDLE5330
a2: PLCs can be a way to foster collaboration, encourage best practices &build a shared vision. However, the leadership aspect expected of teachers, extra time commitment might cause fear and frustrated when PLCs are not implemented correctly or expectations are unclear #EDLE5330
A1: A staff that believes in the effect they can have on Ss achievement makes a bigger impact than many of us realize (Hattie affirms this finding). without that belief in what we do, neither will the students #EDLE5330
@finscience@MrsBereuter This reminds me of an article our leadership has shared the past few years. Ps need to be aware of the relationships forming and who are encourages (marigolds) and who might be negative (walnut trees)

a3 Leaders must create a shared vision and goals for Ts, PD opportunities and communication of the implementation process should be clear. Ts need to see the bigger picture and the WHY behind the change to help buy in and draw out Ts strengths during the process #EDLE5330
a2 1st order change fits in the current organizational system-small steps to fine tune various aspects. 2nd order change is deep and is a dramatic shift in direction and ways of thinking/accomplishing tasks. #EDLE5330
@finscience@CoachQSays I agree. I think the info they bring forth can be valuable when adapting and thinking through change. It can help improve the process and calm some nerves others may be feeling about the change if leaders will take the time to listen and understand #EDLE5330
@elaine_anaya@finscience agreed! I think it is vital that we teach our students resiliency but also staff. We will sometimes have to roll with the punches and assess the change process as we go #EDLE5330
@LeeLavalle YES! they why needs to be clear. There will always be things to fix but to make a difference change may need to occur. It may just be slow #EDLE5330
a1: change isnt immediate. You have to follow the process and assess as you go. Leaders have to live through the tough times (Marzano video). Ps have to help others see the vision and the WHY for the change so the expectation is clear for all #EDLE5330
I used to think leaders needed to have all the answers and be in there own world in a sense BUT now I know that leadership needs to be involved & visible. They need to build relationships to promote growth in change in Ts and https://t.co/kbG3eBdXeV develop Ts strengths #edle5330
a3 Understanding why something is happening is vital to change. Leaders need to listen, guide and be open to change, encourage a growth mindset, build relationships and model what you preach. #edle5330
