🚨 BIG 🚨
Meta, owner of Instagram and WhatsApp, will invest $900 million in Cred at post-money valuation of $4.5 billion.
And Cred's founder Kunal Shah to move Meta to become WhatsApp's global head!
We were first investors with Kunal in both Freecharge and @CRED_club and have had a front row seat, watching Kunal create new categories. Cred would not be here without Kunal’s incredible vision and leadership.
Cred is in a terrific spot today. With strong market share in core categories, incredible distribution and user love, significant revenue scale, a world class team working together for many years and a rock solid balance sheet.
I am excited about the next phase of Cred, which will be about consistent and profitable compounding and an accelerated journey to IPO. Looking forward to working with Miten and the team on this next phase.

the older I get, the more I understand what Solange meant in Cranes in the Sky. heartbreak doesn’t disappear because you stay busy. it doesn’t heal because you find someone new, book a trip, buy things, go out every weekend, or find another way to avoid sitting with yourself. healing happens when you face the pain directly, sit with the discomfort, and allow it to teach you what it came to teach you. you can distract yourself from a wound, but you can’t heal it by pretending it isn’t there.
24 hours in Ahmedabad. Visited Urban Chowk last night and what a vibe. Of course, there was garba, great food, and people genuinely enjoying life.
The roads are great, the infrastructure is solid, the cafe scene is thriving, and everyone seems oddly happy.
Flirting with life is a skill. the guy who whistles walking down the street, compliments the cashier, makes the whole room laugh, treats every stranger like someone worth knowing — that guy never struggles. warmth is the most underrated form of power there is.
I don't know who needs to hear this but someone recently told me "no amount of waiting will make you more brave, and no amount of worrying will make it more safe." And honestly I think about this everyday.
Few months back everyone was fuming that Mumbai sky is filled with pollution and dust. Demanded clear, blue sky.
Now we have clear blue sky. But naseeb hi aisa ki now we look up and demand a dark grey cloudy sky. 😭😭😭
Jo jab chahiye, vahi nahi mil raha.
A peak life advice from Alex Hormozi:
“The fastest way to become the person you want to be is to put yourself in a situation where you have no choice but to become them.”
Mumbai still has 40 days of Water Left
All it takes is 2-3 days of Rainy Days to fill our Dams
However, Mumbai needs 2000 MLD Desalination Plants (simply because we have the Money + Tech)
₹11,666 crore 400 MLD Desalination Plant is Under Construction but that it not enough.
I get blown away every time I read this paragraph by Carl Jung:
To love someone else is easy, but to love what you are, the thing that is yourself, is just as if you were embracing a glowing red-hot iron: it burns into you and that is very painful. Therefore, to love somebody else in the first place is always an escape which we all hope for, and we all enjoy it when we are capable of it. But in the long run, it comes back on us. You cannot stay away from yourself forever, you have to return, have to come to that experiment, to know whether you really can love. That is the question-whether you can love yourself, and that will be the test.
4 of my batchmates from Engineering Physics at IIT Bombay are at Anthropic/OpenAI
From a department of 36 people that is ~12%, and I suspect it has a higher AI lab density than CSE which had ~120 people
Deep physics research with PhDs paying off
