Lisa: “I think when I was little, my mom saw me dancing. I was never shy. She sent me to a dance class, and then I started to do a dance crew. My teacher saw something in me and told me, ‘I think you should try and go singing.’ Then I started to learn singing, and I got it in the audition at YG when I was 13. I was ready to go, I don’t want to be regret if I don’t go”
i really love hearing lisa talk about this era because you can tell she’s being way more intentional with her work. reconnecting with her roots, spending more time in thailand and wanting to have a say in the music, switching verses, removing parts she didn’t connect with, keeping what felt right to her. it’s nice seeing her get more comfortable trusting her own taste and making things feel like her.
