The craziest fact about LeBron's finals streak is that it took him until 2013 to be favored in the finals by more than -145. He was only favored to win 3 of the 10 finals (2011 (-130), 2013 (-240), 2020 (-350). Spurs were -200 before game 1. The comparisons gotta stop.
I said this shit the other day 😂. Every time you log on to this app, someone is crying about the service or the quality or the ethnicity of the folks that work there. Then why are you still going there? There are plenty of places that sell coffee and breakfast.
@GuruLakers Most lakers fans have forgotten how bad those role players were after AD got hurt in game 4 of that 2021 series. Hindsight probably says pelinka shouldn't have broken up the team, but my god, those guys had 2.5 games to prove their worth and they peed down their legs.
@RichStapless JJ overreacted not playing laravia and Hayes in this game. The team isn't deep enough for that. Same as last year when he played the starting 5 24 straight mins vs Minny. With 1 day in between games, you are sending these boys to the slaughter.
@mcten Refs really need to start calling illegal screens on ihart. Lakers got lucky it was a turnover, but it's insane how much he gets away with on those screens.
@TrevorLane I've been pleading since game 1 - don't switch the Ajay Mitchell pick n roll. It took them until the end of the half to finally double him on that play. You stop him, you have a chance.
@mcten Ajay Mitchell destroyed them when SGA sat. Lakers need to show him the same respect they showed Sheppard in Rd 1. They have no one to guard him 1-on-1 . You win those mins by forcing Ajay to give the ball up.
One of the NBA's greatest misses is that we never got to see 08/09 bron in today's spread offense. A superhuman athlete that makes Giannis' athleticism look like Austin reaves'.
@LakersEmpire 66% of his playoffs games have been bad. It doesn't mean he shouldn't get paid, but this is who he is at this point. He had good games vs Memphis and Warriors in 2023, but for the most part, this is who he is in the playoffs.
@AnthonyIrwinLA Rui only took 10 FGA per game in the 1st 2 games, then udoka made the adjustment in game 3. Rui had 16 in the 1st quarter of game 3, but the goal was always to bait the Lakers into mismatch hunting.
@mcten We got ourselves a series. This team hasn't played with much focus since halftime of game 3. We are about to see what they are made of in game 6. Mess around and you're going to make the wrong kind of history.
@Rome_Beast Net rtg discussion from January opened the door for that. I personally think Windhorst going on tv and arguing that LA is better without LeBron hurt Luka's mvp case more than people realize. No, LA isn't better without Luka. And they aren't better without LeBron either.
@TrevorLane That was expected. I'd assume Houston expands their rotation for their home games while LA shrinks theirs. I'd expect JJ to play bron, smart, Kennard, rui at least 40 mins each in one (or both) games.
I was the only person who said back in January that the NET RTG Discussion was opening a Pandora's box no one wants to see open. Big Lakers twitter accounts CHEERED when Windhorst used net rtg on first take. If a guy like bron can be subjected to that, all bets are off.
@Lakersallthewa3 Lakers fans gotta stop the defeatist mentality. I saw another tweet saying " Austin comes back for game 5 with series tied 2-2". I'm like why would you hope the series is tied after 4 games?. The playoffs are not a guarantee. It's a privilege to be here.
@TheLakersReview You will probably see Smith in game 3. Easier to play the worse of the two in front of the home crowd. The back end of the rotation will probably be a little different on the road.
There is a reason I say the 2017 Cavs is the best non-championship winning team LeBron has ever had. This is also why I believed that if both Cavs and warriors ran it back in 2017, the Cavs would have swept them.
