@NicolleDWallace@DeadlineWH Just sent long, thoughtful message to your colleague re ageism and your show, hoping it would get to you. Got out-of-office reply. Feel sure you would like to read. Please tell me where to send. Thanks from an old, devoted viewer
@NicolleDWallace Sample size of two! I’m 76, keep up with tech and politics (obviously), aware of “liar’s dividend” for deepfakes (are you?). Just last nite resolved tech issue for a 17 yr old. Ageism is as pernicious as other isms. Please don’t let it infect your terrific show.
@NicolleDWallace Love yr show so much I DVR it. Watching now, 4 hrs. late. But: I'm 76. Appalled that you mock older people (twice) + assume we're all gullible tech illiterates + incapable of learning. Ageism is no less pernicious than all the other -isms
Why is user called @NYTCare if it can't provide help? Help link takes me to NYT site, which says to phone or chat—but there's no chat link. Site sends me in circles, and to make matters worse, there's no email address. That's why I went to Twitter. Infuriating.
If @cnn thinks canceling @ReliableSources will increase viewer trust, they’re wrong. What a loss for those who believe honest free press is essential to democracy! Does nothing to inspire confidence in “new and improved” CNN.
Thanks, @brianstelter. You’ll be missed.
@NicolleDWallace If only the kids murdered in Uvalde could hear your poignant appreciations of their lives! In their memory, please consider honoring living kids from other non-affluent communities the same way. Imagine the confidence, the pride, the hope it could bring.
People like me can't afford unlimited subscriptions. We sometimes need 1 specific article from paywalled source (if not available from library). Why can't we purchase single articles or better yet, 1-day site access, for a nominal fee (under $2)? https://t.co/jvEpHE8bch
@FReadomFighters@CNN The librarian still in me is becoming progressively more enraged and saddened. See this @michelleinbklyn column, as well:https://t.co/jFwrgrya8W
@davidfrum The remake is great,in large part thanks to Tony Kushner script. Good enough for Rita Moreno, great enough for me.And film reminds us why characters live in a neighborhood crumbling around them: construction of Lincoln Center.Ashamed never to have wondered what was there before
@CongressmanRaja@rebellegrrl Indeed. Perhaps the wrong day to say so, but voting, to me, is sacred.
From a poem I wrote in 2016:
voting being the true religion,
the region where i live,
to corrupt the vote
is to vanquish the gods.
I wrote it before the election. Little did I know.
@hahnscratch Wishing you a speedy recovery. How anyone with accurate information could vote against forming a union—or refuse, with the unfortunate permission of SCOTUS, to pay "agency fees" to the union that protects them—is beyond me. I hope your story is heard by those who need to hear it.
@ErikWemple This threat to freedom of the press is a chillingly close cousin to the voter suppression/election subversion laws springing up around the country like poisonous weeds. Our democracy is increasing flawed. It needs tending. https://t.co/Z0gw4Q4Vyd
@JillWineBanks "Elderly." I'm roughly of your vintage, Jill, and it infuriates me. Connotes frailty, usually mental. Call us older people, older Americans, or elders. Call us old. But Covid or no Covid, strike "elderly" as an epithet for everyone over 65 from every style manual in the land.
