Citi Upgrades $CSIQ
From sell to neutral. Price Target from $11 -> $18
I spoke with Citi’s analyst during the tour. He was SUPER impressed imo. This is how things go at the sell side. Incremental upgrades.
From sell to neutral, from neutral to buy, then keep increasing PT as the stock runs.
Dont hate the player, hate the game.
GREAT to see things moving in the right direction.
$CSIQ Apparently, there is a rumor in Chinese stock forums that CSI Solar owns ~1.444% of Kimi 3…
(This isn’t verified by trusted sources yet. Im viewing it simply as entertainment… hopefully there’s more to it, but not counting on it)
“In addition to state-owned capital, industrial capital also enters the situation. Artes (CSI Solar), a listed enterprise on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange (688472. SH) indirectly holds 1.4446% of the shares through the Lingang Frontier Arts Yangzhou New Energy Equity Investment Fund. Ningxia Baofeng Group also indirectly became a shareholder through Huayue Chuangzhi Fund.”

U.S. TAX CREDIT COLLECTION CONFIRMED BY $CSIQ !!
No one gives a F* about $CSIQ here in X...

It appears that in one of the latests CSI filings in Shanghai, the company clearly mentions:
"In December 2025, the U.S. subsidiary received approximately RMB 1.4 billion in proceeds from the transfer of U.S. advanced manufacturing tax credits, resulting in a temporary increase in the overseas cash balance at the end of the period."

Had a call with IR last night, and she confirmed it. They need to get MUCH better at market communications, but glad to finally get confirmation.
Her actual words were: "Yes, it's obvious. We wouldn't be further investing in US manufacturing if we weren't collecting tax credits". I pushed back and said it wasn't obvious, and that investors need to be spoon fed... hope they change this in the future.
Moreover, this is not accounting earnings. The filling, and IR confirmed, this is CASH IN THE BANK. They sold those credits to a 3rd party and converted to cash. In 2026 and going forward, those credits will be claimed by CSPowerTech.
During the factory tour they mentioned having repeat tax credit buyers. The combination of that, and this, derisks 45X risk significantly imo.
Numbers line up too: $1.4B RMB = ~200M USD.
3-3.5GWs of production from Dallas factory, 7cents per watt, with a ~10-15% discount, = ~200M USD
They guided to 6.5-7GWs of US production this year, so ~$400M in PTC just from the module factory in 2026... And $600-700M in 2027... JUST FROM MODULES!!
On a 1B mkt cap company...
Make it make sense. This won't last long imo, market's gonna wake up.
