Meet Jimothy, Seattle’s newest viral legend.
This little guy is a raccoon with a rare congenital condition called short spine syndrome, which gives him a stubby, low-to-the-ground body and a unique scuttling run. Spotted darting across backyards, sprinting up stone stairs, and squeezing through balcony bars in quiet Seattle neighborhoods.
Local resident Kiana Hall, 33, saw him during a late-night walk and was stunned: ‘I got very confused at what I was seeing. I just have never seen any other animal like it.’ She recognized the raccoon mask on his face and hoped he stays healthy and free.
Experts say Jimothy is doing well despite his looks he’s adapted and resilient. The advice? Leave him alone and let him live his best wild life.
Only in Seattle. 🦝
