@davidhepworth @WIYElondon A follow on from Hunky Dory last week. Of the musicians that played on it only Rick Wakeman failed to join the Spiders. In August 1971 he had two offers one from Yes who'd just had a hit album and one from Bowie. I have no doubt he bit Yes' hand off. Wonder if he regretted it?

@davidhepworth @WIYElondon Resident Yes expert here...re the Iron Butterfly PA story discussed last week. The point wasnt just that the PA sounded better...but that it had monitoring, so - almost for the first time - a band could hear themselves play...so played...and more importantly sang..in tune!
