DC Emergency Rental Assistance (ERAP) Update ⚠️ On Tuesday, April 1, the DC Council will hear the latest version of a critical rental assistance reform bill. It includes important measures to prevent evictions and hold unresponsive landlords accountable.
We held a lunch-out by the @ACLU_DC office to let management know that we will protect our union and our illegally laid-off members, and that we are just getting started.

1 week after this action and 1 week before Thanksgiving, me and an organizer were unlawfully laid off by the @ACLU_DC . Now, they're trying to keep us from speaking on our lived experience and seeking damages.
Please support us as we fight back ❤️🔥

1 week before Thanksgiving, 1 week after *this union action*, and 1 year into bargaining our 1st contract, @ACLU_DC mgmt unlawfully laid off these two union members-nearly 15% of our bargaining unit.
We’re fighting back and need your help:

This week, we reminded @ACLU_DC bosses that union rights are civil rights! Since we unionized, management has:
❌ Taken away our successful 4-day work week, and
❌ Refused to negotiate changes to our working conditions
Happy May Day everyone! Celebrating one year of winning voluntary recognition but since then, we've been dealing with some retaliation. Worker power forever, we will continue to organize! 🥖🌹
This May Day, let management know you won’t stand for retaliation! With new Zoom pics for the occasion, our unit reminded the organization of the Unfair Labor Practices complaint we filed when they took away our 4-day work week.
Love and solidarity to all workers – keep going!

Happy International Workers’ Day! Can’t let May Day pass without a little good news, right?
We’ve reached an agreement with management and – pending a card check – will have voluntary recognition!

Last year DC allocated $20 million for excluded workers, now @MayorBowser is trying to take this money from community members who need it! The Council must keep its promise & #StopTheSwipe! We're counting on @ChmnMendelson to return this $$ to excluded workers! #DontExcludeMe
We're springing into action because @MayorBowser is trying to take $20 million in cash assistance that was ALREADY WON + promised to excluded workers LAST YEAR. We're counting on @ChmnMendelson & the rest of the Council to #StopTheSwipe!
Be there tomorrow at 9am! #DontExcludeMe
Today, an effort that I've been working on since last summer went public. D.C. Crisis Response Coalition's policy platform includes a comprehensive set of recommendations + demands to overhaul the current crisis response system in D.C. I'm so proud and excited! #DCCrisisResponse
Today, we’re introducing the D.C. Council to the D.C. Crisis Response Coalition.
With this coalition, we seek to overhaul the way the District responds to mental health crises.
ACLU-D.C. prioritizes justice, equity, and inclusion in its work and, as the workers of this organization, we believe it should maintain those priorities in its self-governance.
So today, we told management that ACLU-D.C. workers have formed a union with @WBNG32035.
Landlords don’t care if it’s freezing and neither does the Mayor. Bowser must reinstate the eviction moratorium and stop letting families lose their homes during the holidays (and beyond). Join us this Saturday, Nov 20th at 3pm to demand the Mayor take immediate action.
