Held substantive bilateral discussions with @EmmanuelMacron at the National Palace today, covering a broad range of issues of mutual interest.
We also presided over the exchange of key agreements between our two countries, including the €54.6 million loan agreement for the Renewable, Integrated, Sustainable Energy and Digitalization Program, as well as the exchange of the new Framework and Roadmap for the 150MW Geothermal Public-Private Partnership engagement (PPP).

At the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, co-hosted by President @WilliamsRuto and President @EmmanuelMacron, I shared my thoughts and Ethiopia’s experience during the session on Green Industrialization and Energy Transition.
Ethiopia continues to play a key role in these two areas.
#Ethiopia and the #UnitedStates sign establishment of structured dialogue framework aimed at strengthening economic, defense and security cooperation. There’s huge potential for mutually beneficial partnership between the two longstanding sisterly countries.
Ethiopia and the United States held bilateral consultations in Washington, D.C. on May 11, 2026, aimed at further strengthening relations between the two countries.
The Ethiopian delegation, led by Foreign Minister @GHessebon and comprising Macroeconomic Advisor to the Prime Minister, Ambassador Girma Birru and Director General of National Intelligence and Security Service (NISS), Ambassador Redwan Hussein, held discussions with their counterparts from the United States.
The bilateral structured dialogue between Ethiopia and the United States focused on three key areas: economic prosperity, trade and investment; defense and security cooperation; as well as the promotion of regional peace and stability.
The establishment of the bilateral consultation framework is expected to further strengthen and sustain the longstanding relationship between the two countries.
