I just realized I’ve been trying to make myself into something I’m not.
I’m a writer-thinker, not a free-talker.
My clarity lives on the page, not on air. When I talk for a while, I drift. I overshare. My brain races ahead of my mouth. ↓
I will never disrespect our army no matter their shortcomings.
These people are putting their lives in front to protect us,with little resources and meagre pay.
Unlike military in many other countries that comes with privileges, you know it is only passion and patriotism that will make one wants to join the military in this trying times.
I want to see the same energy that was used to disgrace, disparage and profile Northerners these few days calling them bandits and the rest when the Oyo Kidnap happened.
Now that the kidnappers have been confirmed to be Yorubas living within town after the Adelabu’s rescue by the police.
Christianity isn't blamed when when some persons commit atrocities claiming to be Christians; So why is the insecurity crisis (in Nigeria) being pinned on Islam?
The "Sharia Law" demand from the bandits involved in the Oyo State abduction case is very questionable; Don't you think this is suspicious? There have been religious debates in this country for months now, with the insecurity crisis worsening the issue and creating division amongst us thru propagandas and all sorts of agendas.
I refuse to believe that those culprits will use this as a bargaining chip, something about this seems too scripted or forced, more like politically motivated to further push a narrative and fuel the divsison.
If this was the case why then is the insecurity crisis also affecting Muslims in large numbers? Even during the last holidays many lost their lives right after prayers. These bandits can't be figthing for Islam and still be attacking Muslim communities. Something is off. We can argue and disagree on religious conversations, call-out what is wrong when necessary, but the one thing everyone should do is to not feed into propaganda.
That said, hold the govts accountable for all we are going thru.
