I completed the Fellowship program in 2020, and it has proven to be a great opportunity for my career. It immediately generated respect amongst my colleagues, and it has opened several doors for me. If you have any questions about the QFP, I’m all ears! (5/5)

While the Fellowship isn’t heavy on undirected research, it gives you an opportunity to work on tangible and applied problems. You gain unparalleled insight into the US financial system, and you help promote safety and soundness of financial institutions. (4/5)
In recognition of Young Professionals Month we asked HYPE (Harnessing Young Professional Energy) member Lance Cundy what he enjoys about working at the Minneapolis Fed. Read his response below.

As a former fellow, I can attest that the program was a great career opportunity. It immediately generated respect amongst my colleagues, and it has opened doors for my career. If you have any questions about the QFP, I’m all ears!

In the two-year program, Fellows rotate across Reserve Banks and the Board. You gain experience in areas such as stress test modeling, analyzing financial institution portfolios, and model risk management and validation, among other quantitative topics.
“But so many of the success stories I heard boiled down to slow, sustained efforts; doing a job well — even the crappy parts; trying, failing and trying again; showing up every single day at a workplace where your presence is not necessarily welcome and producing good work.”
The Minneapolis Fed released their annual report on the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion. The Bank remains committed to ensure inclusion of minorities, women and minority- & women-owned businesses in all activities. Yours truly made the cover page 😎 https://t.co/SOaU7Qv7Xh
Just finished “The Color of Money” by @MehrsaBaradaran. If you are in banking, finance, or economics, this is a must read. This account of how banking is connected to the racial wealth gap makes it clear that institutional work needs to be done to close the gap
@johntmeyer@abarrallen@ZachACole I’m pretty strict with a 500 mile rule. Some people prefer to switch out at 400 or even 300. And of course, it depends on your shoe. Some shoes these days aren’t built to last more than 200 or so.
Alright take two. NOW the google form for the #AEA5k 2021 race is working. Hopefully anyway. "Google, do as I say not as I do" didn't quite work, so I had to read the manual but I think it's working now. https://t.co/e0RKEcxt2U
Like any non-Sioux Falls kid, I had my share of angst towards the sports-writing @stuwhitney of my youth. However, I’ve come to love the self-deprecating jokes, and Stu was just hitting his stride with coverage around Covid and the election. Hope you keep popping up on my feed!
After nearly 30 years, this is my final column for the Argus Leader. I have taken a voluntary buyout and my last day is Dec. 1. My thankfulness for my time here is something I wanted to share. https://t.co/P4396dJcZG
