In the movie "Main Wapas Aaoonga," Diljit asks his grandfather why he never speaks about the Partition or shares what really happened back then. The old man replies that they choose not to talk about it because whatever they share will only be perceived as hatred and brutality—when in reality, it was something entirely different, a burden they intend to carry with them to their graves.
What happened during Partition wasn't just a communal riot between Hindus, Muslims, and Sikhs; it was a testament to how low humanity can sink. Greed turned men into beasts. Imtiaz Ali rightly captured that it was something far beyond simple hatred or savagery, calling it just that doesn't do it justice.
This time, Imtiaz Ali hasn't merely directed a film, he has composed a long, breathtaking piece of poetry. I’ve admired his work ever since his debut with "Socha Na Tha." While "Jab We Met" and "Love Aaj Kal" felt a bit too loud to me but "Rockstar" and "Highway" were absolute masterpieces and "Tamasha" was deeply profound in its own right. His film on Chamkila was beautiful too, but with this latest work, Imtiaz has outdone himself. And Naseeruddin Shah has once again demonstrated the true masterclass of acting .
#MainVaapasAaunga is again trending on social media platforms following its digital release on Netflix. Scenes are being shared, characters are being discussed. Imtiaz Ali did it again. Made a film that will stay rent-free in audience’s hearts.♥️
Now I get it why Naseeruddin shah called rajesh khanna and amitabh bachchan poor actors because only the actor of this calibre can have the rights to call others bad actors 👏🏻
This is my last tweet on #LockUpp I swear. I know it’s irritating for you guys lol
The concept of the show was redemption & the winner of the show came with the tag ‘Batameez’
She outed someone’s sexual orientation, held food as ransom, made fun of a contestants financial struggles & mocked people’s relationships outside of the show
F*ck redemption: this reality show set the standard that you can go to the lowest of lows to win & we’ll celebrate you!
18 random journalists, influencers & superstars including dashing star Prince Narula decided the winner of a reality TV show 😂😂
#LockUpp had no format. They improvised as they pleased.
Random tasks. Absolutely terrible hosting!
AUR MAINE HAR EPISODE DEKHA!
@NetflixIndia If Laila was considered a misogynist, this woman's worse. Slut-shames & character assassinates other women (chamola) & then plays the woman card, she was great for the show but a much subtler version of Priyanka Jagga! Lies under her teeth.
Netflix, I pity your standard.
It’s not easy to convince people with the stories and characters of our epics. We have all grown up listening to them, and each of us carries our own imagination of these timeless legends. Hats off to the team for creating such an incredibly convincing world. @niteshtiwari22@malhotra_namit , take a bow.
I can relate to the pressure an actor feels while portraying such iconic characters. Every single actor has embraced that responsibility and delivered a brilliant performance. @raviedubey@Sai_Pallavi92@Rakulpreet@arrahman@HansZimmer , every emotion has been beautifully underlined by your music. What a phenomenal score.
#RanbirKapoor, brother, you made us truly feel the aura and divinity of Rama. @TheNameIsYash sir, my eyes grew bigger and bigger with every shot of yours. I don't think anyone else could have done justice to that character. I am running short of words to tell more about your brilliant performance but one thing , as a kannadiga you have always made us feel proud.
