I just personally think that as a team, if you see that one car has the pace to be up there too, it's your job to let it! Which means you do what you can to give both cars the best chance. And today they clearly did not. And it hurts to see!
I feel like oscar did have good chances. I feel proud that he held positions so well even though he had damage. So when i say i am dissapointed i do not mean the decision to let him fight up there. I don't even mean they should have switched cars.
Maybe the team thought that oscar had a better chance because he had a better start position and I get that actually. But they should have changed the tactic after the incident with charles. Just my opinion. Because BOTH drivers had chances and both chances were missed.
Oh I would love to listen to the debrief because what was the Team thinking? I am truly curious about that, i don't mean it in a rude way. But why would they let Lando stay out on old tyres for so long? That was not a smart move. He definetly could have been at the top today!
And nothing against oscar here. He is a good driver, he deserves to be up there too! BUT why would you decide a car with damage has a better chance than a car who clearly had better pace today?
