This morning we cut the ribbon on the Cotton Bowl — $140M, three years of work, and the restoration of a Dallas icon.
The House That Doak Built isn’t just a stadium. It’s history, pride, and the soul of a city brought back to life.
Honored to play a part in its next chapter.
One week ago, we officially cut the ribbon on one of the smartest, most meaningful investments we’ve made in District 12, a 13.48 acre park of green space and amusements that’s now officially our 6th new park in just 6 years! Welcome Adventure Landing and the Hildebrand soccer fields!
This beloved location has been part of the fabric of our community for over 30 years, and now, thanks to incredible teamwork and a shared vision, it’s preserved for generations to come. With the Wilbur & Lucy Hildebrand soccer fields and great amusements, this park will continue to be a place where families come together, stay active, and create lasting memories.
Even better, this isn’t just about preserving the past. Proceeds from the amusements will fund maintenance for this park, and help pay for others across the city. That’s a win-win.
Sincere appreciation for the Dallas Park and Recreation board that unanimously approved this project, especially D12 Park Board representative Lane Conner for his leadership and efforts. Also thanks to Arun Agalwar, Board Chairman, John Jenkins, Park Director, Ryan O'Conner, and Buzz Deitchman.
Special thanks to the full city council for unanimously approving this purchase and city manager Tolbert for her support.
A heartfelt thank you to the Hildebrand family members who traveled to be part of the celebration. Your family legacy will continue to bring joy to our community through the generous donation you made for the naming rights of the soccer fields.
Let’s keep building a stronger, more connected D12—one park at a time!

Thanks to all residents who came out last night to give input on the Campbell Green Rec Center project. Special shout out to the @DallasParkRec staff who residents complimented for making the center so special! We appreciate you!

Hiking tour & planning mtg at Rosemeade Park.
The park is approx 70 acres of completely undeveloped land, with 30 acres of the only Cross Timbers ecosystem in Dallas.
Lush forests, prairies, a small pond and waterfall, lots of birds and opportunities for outdoor learning about nature.
We devoted significant 2024 bond funds to help develop this property from a nuisance to amenity. Currently there are 3 homeless encampments. There is no signage or parking to even identify it as a park. For residents who live west of PGWB, it is their only park.
The Parks Dept has done a lot of research about the area and all the species that live in the park, worked hard to do a first pass at clearing some paths, removing tons of debris, and resolving issues in the park. More work to be done, but we're on the right path!

District 12 virtual meeting tonight discussing the latest plan for redesign of the Preston Green Park. This small neighborhood park will have the Cotton Belt Trail running through it. Studio Outside has done a great job listening and developing options for the community.

We need your help. Amendment 103, submitted by Commissioners Marshall Mills (appointed CM @GayDWillis13 ) and @VoteAdamMedrano (appointed CM Narvaez) would remove Park Board authority having @DallasParkRec Director report to City Council instead of Park Board. Pls email [email protected] to oppose. Don’t let politics destroy Dallas parks . @dallasnews
🚀 Big News Alert! 🚀 ParkHub is thrilled to announce our latest milestone: the acquisition of the esteemed UK-based company, JustPark! 🚗✨
