If Sam returns and Ilya leaves it’s still bad for OpenAI. Ilya is a genius researcher and it would be a huge loss. But I don’t think they would be able to work together after what happened. It’s been a long time since my cofounder backstabbed me with a surprise board and I don’t think I will ever want to see him around. Such a shame they have so little belief in their public speaking skills that they chose violence and not a debate.
