💻 Gaggle — the AI monitoring tool — instantly flagged the message. Within minutes, the School Resource Deputy & administrators moved in.

👦 The student, Ian Franco (13), told officers he was just “trolling” a friend who was annoying him. No actual plan, no weapon — just another so-called “joke” that created panic.

⚠️ Parents, this is a reminder: In today’s digital world, kids can’t even scribble dumb threats in a notebook without triggering a full-blown emergency. Every word typed is monitored, flagged, and escalated.

Another child was arrested, named, and "perp walked" on video by the Volusia County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday — this one for threatening while in class to sho*t up Silver Sands Middle School in Port Orange.

The 11-year-old boy is the 10th child to be "outed" on social media for making a school threat since Sept. 16, when Sheriff Mike Chitwood adopted a name-and-shame policy aimed at curbing such behavior. The News-Journal is not naming the boy because of his age.
