The Federal High Court in Abuja on Monday replayed a television interview granted by former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, as proceedings continued in the alleged phone-tapping case filed against him by the Department of State Services (DSS).
During the hearing before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik, human rights lawyer Deji Adeyanju appeared as the prosecution's second witness. Adeyanju told the court that the video recording presented accurately captured the events of the February 13 Arise Television programme, during which El-Rufai alleged that a telephone conversation involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, had been intercepted.
The testimony formed part of the prosecution's efforts to substantiate its case as the court continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the allegations made by the former governor.
