3. I put out a question "Who should I vote for Mary or Paula" and I got a DM from a @lanrick2018 volunteer. Who asked - why just incumbents?. On paper and in person Lanrick is WHO YOU WANT running. But I don't have the answer for how quality independent voices can win now.
2. I'm lucky because #TorontoDanforth has a wonderful population of progressive folks with well informed and progressive candidates. Now we have less representation AND new voices like @lanrick2018 are at a huge disadvantage to ever beat an incumbent. https://t.co/OVVnWnSm1N
Special thanks to @mfragedakis and her service over the last 8 years. Door after door in the north end, there was no words againsts your passion or commitment for the residents of East York. You were more than a photo op politician and for that you have my utmost respect. End/
figure out accessibility enhancements so no one voter is left behind) I know a certain person wishes I was done but to that person I’ll say I just got started. Congrats to the Orange Machine and thanks to all of the candidates who stepped up to represent #Ward14 6/
that I think, are looking for community leaders to step up and #DoMORE today, tomorrow and into the future. I’m proud of the residents that came out to vote. (We’ll work on getting more people to vote next time, push ranked ballots and term limits and 5/ HT @TorontoRaBIT
#Tordan doesn’t have protected bike lanes. It doesn’t have a constituency office open Monday to Friday, 8am to 8pm (with weekend pop ups). It doesn’t have a plan for affordable housing or the environment or transit or mental health. But what it does have is engaged residents 4/
exhilarating civic experiences ever. I walked, and talked. Ate and protested. Laughed (a lot of laughing) Cried but only a bit. I found that exploring my old ward boundary and catapulting myself north of the Danforth as a duty for local democracy (by bike no less) 3/
The many ups, the crazy mid-election downs. I canvassed and knocked on so many doors, interacting with so many people. That was incredible. Don’t let anyone tell you that knocking on a door and not knowing who will be on the other side isn’t one of the most 2/
Having my first coffee after 9am. Crazy!! Thankful that I only have to retire one of buttons (for now) Many emotions from the results last night but one thing holds true. Residents in Ward14 are awesome. I’m proud of my team. How we handled this campaign. 1/
