Day 5 of rating workspaces in SF🌱
📍1541 Polk Street
Rating: 8/10
Fun fact: could you have guessed this place use to be a church⛪️🤓☝️amen
Pros:
-THEY GOT A SQUATTY TOILET STOOL😭😭😭🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻(+100000 aura pts for that honestly😍)
- OPENS LATE🌝!! Closes at 11:45pm so if you’re not feeling a corgi cafe or haraz coffee vibes, come here!!
- good calming bgm (they played lofi and i genuinely felt like the lofi girl locking in lollll)
-very spacious with lots of different types of workstations
-have anime in the background for if you wanna lock out🎬
Cons:
- there’s some couches, desks scattered in random places that i feel like doesnt work out like (for example i wouldnt want to be sitting on a couch next to someones work desk or be against a wall but to each their own ig🦧💨)
ISTGGG this is not sponsored but I had a chat w/ @sigmagirlgrind and really enjoyed learning what @lans_irl . As an SF native, it's really sad seeing more of these empty spaces appearing around the city, unused and almost invisible. I loved their mission of transforming these empty spaces into a thirdplace where people can work together and mingle, and bringing life into them again! I think this is going to be BIG as more people are WFH now and personal connections are more relevant than ever:) Excited to visit more Lans workspaces!!
we started @lans_irl as two solopreneurs who wanted to build without stressing about coffee shop hopping or committing to an office.
so, we teamed up to make every coworking spaces & study cafes affordable.
the people who come through our doors are what make these places special. thank you @amanda_ye 💜
best places to cowork in sf that aren't corgi/capital one cafe or your apartment complex for the mainstream crowd:
1. any equinox (with the exception of union). you don't need a membership to cowork at the sports location and can take the elevator up to 4th floor. outlets existent, scenery minimalistic.
2. sohn in dogpatch. comfy spots, outlets, and architecturally pleasing to the eye. also their food and drinks are a 10/10. bullish on the melona matcha to the point where 7 of my friends want to try it on beli.
3. lans sf in polk gulch. i don't know how to describe it but it just feels like a friendly space where you don't feel obligated to socialize about what you're building and you can actually just get work done without the fluff (s/o @sigmagirlgrind).
4. binge coffee house. younger crowd, has outlets & bathroom. bonus points for decent drinks & food, very cognizant of cafes in nyc.
5. good question. if you guys have any thirdspace recs for creatives <> engineers <> entrepreneurs would love your thoughts/recs.
if you're in sf, check it out!
