@SaudiAirlines I’m raising a serious issue about a booking (Ref: VYV36L) for my elderly mother. She was scheduled to travel from LAX–JED–HYD on Sep 20, 2025. Without any notification, her return flight was rerouted to:
LAX–NYC–JED–HYD — including an 11-hour layover in Jeddah.

Original route still sold despite plans to cancel

@saudiairlines The alternative offered — a flight just from LAX to NYC — is not a valid solution. Sending my elderly mother across the country just to catch an international flight with an 11-hour layover is unreasonable.

@saudiairlines The partial refund offered is based on an unused segment of a round-trip ticket. However, round-trip fares are bundled for value, so this refund doesn’t cover the cost of rebooking a one-way flight.

@saudiairlines Customer service confirmed plans to cancel or reroute flights, yet the route remained available for booking. This feels deceptive and unethical — selling flights Saudia knew it wouldn’t operate.

This means tickets were sold for a flight that may not operate.
