@WaukeshaAlerts Continued... A recreational motorboat carrying ten occupants-six adults and four children-attempted to navigate to safety as weather conditions deteriorated. While underway, the vessel was overwhelmed by severe wind and waves, took on water, capsized, and subsequently sank.
@WaukeshaAlerts Below is a copy of the Police Dept Press Release... the first paragraph states: "On July 3, a sudden and severe storm moved across the area, rapidly producing hazardous boating conditions. "
@ITCoffeeMeister@WaukeshaAlerts You're missing the point... its hard to get off a lake when there are dozens of other boats trying to, the wind came out of nowhere according to locals. That lake is difficult when its a little choppy. 30+ minutes is not enough time.
@ThePurvShow@n0thingmatt3rz@WaukeshaAlerts And thats you, an experienced boater. You're assuming everyone can react quickly in an emergency. Their boat "capsized" we have no idea if it was taking on water, how big it was, how many people were on board, what size engine, etc
@Suffererr_@WaukeshaAlerts I'm responding to what they wrote... "Lake Geneva is currently in disaster mode. Significant damage reported in the entire area as a result of destructive severe storms. Including a capsized boat on Geneva Lake with at least 3 victims missing."
@huffyhenry414@WaukeshaAlerts EXACTLY !! People shouldn't comment about boaters unless they are one themselves. Getting your boat on a trailer is impossible with that wind. So coming in if you used the launch is just as dangerous as riding it out
