You can leave her in safe areas and take care of enemies yourself in places your unsure of. She does not take damage in the typical since she only becomes possessed which when it becomes severe she will give you very clear signs and you can place a candle right near her.

Second ghosts don't attack her not even Walter does. So she can help fight them and you can box enemies off with her on one side while you are on the other. You can use her to your advantage. She is not helpless like Ashley or Maria.
