The locking thing is a bit complicated—e.g., if you lock the screen with the keyboard shortcut but don't have the "Require password…" option selected in System Preferences, the computer doesn't really get locked (and the alarm won't sound)

@natemhanson Also, just to double check: are you locking the computer before unplugging the power cable? The alarm won't go off unless the computer is locked (e.g., by choosing "Lock Screen" in the Laplock menu)

Our thinking for SMS is that it works without having to install an app, and it works on any mobile phone even without data. But you never know... we'll keep it in mind!
