I’m just going to be real here: do you guys seriously think it’s normal for a 31-year-old man to have to publicly apologize over a picture of a woman? When that picture started circulating online, one of the things I kept seeing was, “Oh, but BL actors are this, BL actors are that…” Do you seriously think every BL actor is gay and that they all date their on-screen partners?
There’s a huge difference between supporting a community and being part of that community. Do you really think these men don’t want to get married, have kids, and build a family of their own? How long is this going to keep going?

Like, seriously, do you really think he’s going to want to keep doing this after everything that happened?

I believe there’s a lot of love between TongTong and Boss, but love doesn’t necessarily have to be romantic. It can be the love of family, friendship, partnership, of two people who genuinely care about each other and that’s beautiful too. And please stop acting like you have some kind of authority over their lives just because you consume their work. “Oh, I’m going to stop following him because he wasn’t honest.” Honest about what, exactly? Seriously, good. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out. One less person to deal with in this fandom.
I haven’t followed TongTong since the beginning of his career, so I don’t know how many times he’s had to come forward and explain himself or apologize for something. But one thing was very clear in this statement: he deeply values what he and Boss have and everything they’re building together.
And I think that should be enough. They’re human beings before they’re characters, actors, or anything else we choose to project onto them.
