I spoke with the BBC Focus on Africa this evening on the latest developments in the Southern Tigray zone, which are primarily triggered by the failure to uphold the withdrawal of foreign and non-ENDF forces from Tigray region according to the Pretoria agreement for cessation of hostilities.Β
The lack of the federal governmentβs commitment to uphold the constitutional order and the brief clashes over the last few days should serve as warning signs to avoid relapse into further violence, especially given the inflammatory statement issued by the Amhara state government earlier today.
