I visited the Yoruba Encyclopedia and saw Edo history on their page. Why is a Yoruba website presenting Benin history in a way that I believe contains false historical claims and narratives? What is our history doing in a yoruba website?? @Edocentric_
This was the moment VeryDarkMan and other protesters chased away th√gs that came to att@ck them at the ongoing protest in Oyo State as they demand for the release of Kidn@pped school children and teachers.
Moment Gov. Seyi Makinde sent his personnel to summon Verydarkman and the protester to his office for peaceful talks but VDM insisted on everyone following him down there but they have to maintain absolute decorum ✊🏽🙌🏼
Taking Kenneth Okonkwo to court wouldn’t have arisen if he had stopped at those allegations, but he claimed he still has more he would expose about me in the future — Peter Obi

Here are some Chieftaincy titles that come from the Great Benin Empire and are used by the Owo people in what is now Ondo state;
* The Ologbose (Ologbosere): This title is found in various kingdoms within Ondo State (including Owo) and is taken directly from the Benin Kingdom. In Benin, the Ologbosere is the top military chief or head of the war chiefs.
* Ojumu: This is one of the top chiefs and the second in command to the Olowo. The title has strong influences from the Edo court system and involves the important role of tying coral beads during the initiation of other chiefs.
* Osere: A well-known title and warrior rank. Established centuries ago by Olowo Omasan, the Osere historically acted as a military leader and is responsible for the initiation of new chiefs alongside the Ojumu.
* Sashere: This title carries significant ceremonial and administrative responsibilities within certain quarters of the Owo Kingdom. It has deep cultural and naming connections with the Sashere title in Benin.
* Uwangwe: This title was directly taken from the palace system of the Benin Kingdom. In Owo, it is traditionally associated with palace administration and is closely related to the Osere and Sashere houses.
* Ebo Ologho: This is the collective name for the Owo palace chiefs and officials, whose administrative structure was greatly influenced by the Edo court system.
The Owo people in present-day Ondo state belong to the Ediod group in terms of ethnic classification; they are not Yoruba.

I walked past king square ring road few hours ago and the statues are looking worn out. The paint is fading and people now sit around them freely.
These monuments are part of our heritage and should be properly maintained and protected. I respectfully appeal to the relevant stakeholders & authorities to consider maintaining and restoring these statues so they can continue to reflect the beauty & pride of our kingdom.
Let’s preserve the beauty and history of Benin City. Oba gha tor Kpere, Ise!
