James Burrows, the undeniable king of multi-camera sitcom directing who had a hand in many of the biggest network shows of all time, has passed away at the age of 85.
The legendary director helped shape generations of television through his work on “Taxi,” “Cheers,” “Frasier,” “Friends,” “Will & Grace,” and countless others. Across a career that spanned more than five decades, Burrows directed over 1,000 episodes of TV and helped define the modern sitcom.
